The Biomechanics Academy
Section 3 · Forces, movement and what they explain
Seventeen chapters on how the knee moves and what loads it, written from school age to consultant level. All 188 pages are published and awaiting review.
How to read a number on these pages
Biomechanics is a field where three credible methods give three different answers to the same question, and the difference is usually the method rather than the knee.
- Every figure carries its method. A cadaver figure, a laboratory figure and an in vivo figure are three different kinds of number. Each page says which it is quoting, because a figure without its method attached cannot be used.
- Every figure is unchecked. No measurement on this site has been verified against a source. Each is registered with the sentence it supports and a verification state, so the list can be worked through.
- How It Is Measured is a section, not an aside. Each page has a heading for the methods and their limits, because a template with nowhere to say so produces pages that quote figures as settled. See decision 014.
- The landmark papers pages name no citation. Chapter 3.17 and page 3.1.8 are about named studies, and this build cannot retrieve a paper. They give the author a study is taught under and the decade, and no year, journal, volume or page, because those are the parts that get invented. Every attribution is registered. See decision 022.
The seventeen chapters
Every chapter is written. No page in this section has been through evidence verification or consultant review, and each one says so at the top.
