Work in progress. This site is being built in the open. No page on it has yet been reviewed by a clinician, every page says so, and nothing here is medical advice or a substitute for seeing someone about your knee. What that means

Curriculum Links

The planned materials follow the mapping on the Curriculum Links page, which covers GCSE and A level biology and physical education.

Each worksheet is intended to carry the specification reference for the topic it covers, so a deck can be dropped into an existing scheme of work.

What This Covers

The plan is a set of downloadable files to go with the lesson plans in 0.7.1: one slide deck per lesson, a worksheet, a diagram sheet and the printable Knee Explorer Certificate.

None of those files exists. Nothing on this page can be downloaded today, and saying otherwise would waste your preparation time.

What does exist is every piece of subject content the files would carry. It is on the pages this chapter links to, and it is free to read, project and link to.

How to Use It

Until the files are produced, three approaches work.

Project the site page. The pages are single column, print cleanly and reflow on a whiteboard without anything being cut off.

Use the key learning points as a worksheet. Every page ends with three to five of them, and turning each into a question takes a few minutes.

Use the certificate questions. The five questions on the Knee Explorer Certificate page cover chapters 0.1 and 0.2 and work as an end of topic assessment.

Pages may be printed and copied for classroom use. There is nothing to pay and nothing to register for.

What to Watch For

Check the status note at the top of any page before you set it. Pages marked as editorial drafts have not been through consultant review, and that is stated on the page itself rather than hidden.

No diagram on this site is a substitute for a clinical image, and none of the material should be used to interpret a particular pupil's knee.

If you build your own resource from these pages, the governance that applies to the Junior Academy is worth reading first. In particular, nothing in this chapter may be used in anything commercial.

Where to Find Out More

The lesson plans in 0.7.1 describe four lessons that can be taught today from the pages named in them.

The build status page records which materials are outstanding.

The editorial standards page sets out what the status notes on each page mean.

Key Learning Points

  • No downloadable classroom files exist yet, and this page says so plainly.
  • All the subject content the files would carry is already on the linked pages.
  • Pages project and print cleanly and may be copied for classroom use.
  • The key learning points and the certificate questions work as worksheets today.
  • Check each page's status note before setting it, because some are editorial drafts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When will the files be available? No date has been set. The build status page is where progress on them is recorded.

Q. Can I make my own slides from these pages? Yes, for teaching. The one restriction is that nothing from the Junior Academy may be used in anything commercial.

Q. Do I need an account to print a page? No. The site has no accounts and nothing on it is behind a login.

Q. Are the diagrams suitable for an examination class? They are teaching diagrams. Check them against your board's specification, because the labelling conventions examination boards expect are not always the clinical ones.

If a pupil raises a knee problem of their own after a lesson, the answer is to have it assessed by a doctor or physiotherapist. No material on this site can tell you what is wrong with a particular knee.

References

No reference list is attached to this draft. Evidence verification has not run, because source retrieval was unavailable at generation time. Under the Operations Handbook a missing reference is acceptable and an invented one is a critical failure, so nothing has been cited. This page carries no entry requirement, test score, fee, deadline or statistic, because those change every year and none could be checked against an official source. Where a figure would normally go, the page points to the body that publishes it instead. Every claim is listed for verification in the accompanying handoff block.

Safety. KneeSchool is educational and does not give individual medical advice. Seek urgent assessment for a knee that cannot bear weight after an injury, a hot swollen knee with a fever, or new numbness, weakness or coldness in the leg or foot.
